FACES is a counselling service for teenagers & young people (between 10 and 21 years) and for their parents, family members and carers.FACES can help families deal with issues including; developing better relationships, enhancing communication skills, working through any individual problems which have an impact on your family, developing new parenting and conflict resolution skills and resolving difficulties.

The Personal Helpers and Mentors is a Federal Government initiative designed to assist people with mental health issues on their recovery journey, improving people’s quality of life, reconnecting people to the community and accessing services that may be able to assist. The program provides an outreach service and works in partnership with a range of services, agencies and government departments.

The recovery journey for each person is as unique and individual as is each person. PHaMs is a program which is provided by the Schizophrenia Fellowship of NSW (NGO) and provides a person centred, strengths based, recovery focused, capacity building and individualised 1 to 1 service which is directed to all people with mental health issues whatever that may be – anxiety, depression, as well as schizophrenia and other disorders.

How to refer: Referrals can be accessed through any medical and allied health service/professional; community services and self referral.
Eligibility criteria: Person must be over 16 years and experiencing severe and persistent mental illness which is impacting negatively on their life, no diagnosis required.

 

Service Location: Split site: Bega Office covers Bega Valley and Bombala Shires.

 

Cooma office covers Cooma-Monaro and Snowy River Shires.

Post Separation Cooperative Parenting Services

Post Separation Cooperative Parenting (PSCP) is the name of a post separation parenting program under the Family Law Act

PSCP helps separated parents who are fighting learn how parental conflict affects children and why children need parents to be supportive of their relationship with the other parent. It helps parents focus on the needs of the children, instead of on the conflict.

Eligibility criteria: Separated parents who are not talking, who can’t communicate without fighting or who are having trouble managing parenting arrangements may go to a Post Separation Cooperative Parenting Service.  We will arrange for parents to attend at separate times so that they don’t have to meet.  The program is aimed at both parents individually and is helpful even if only one parent attends.
