Promoting sector awareness:



  • Interagency meeting for Far South FLPN members.

    • Where? Moruya Community Hub
    • When? October 20th, 2016
    • Who should attend? People working with separating families (legal and non-legal services) between Batemans Bay and Bega.



  • 10th Annual Judicial dinner with the sitting Judge at Wollongong FCC (The Hon Justice Joe Harman).


      Where? Private location.

    • When? April 5th
    • Who should attend? This event is by invitation only and is attended by legal and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners, CEO’s, senior managers, MP’s, Aboriginal Elders and senior court staff.
    • Why? South Coast practitioners don’t enjoy the same level of engagement with the Wollongong FCC Judge as their Wollongong based colleagues due to the constraints of travel. This event provides an opportunity for intimate, technical and frank discussion between the sitting judge and practitioners from our region and has been highly successful in resolving challenges unique to us.

    • When? Bi monthly
    • Who should attend? These guys.


  • Chambers meeting with Judge Harman. 

    To discuss services available on the south coast with regard to court referrals and to engage in discussion about matters such as waiting times, availability and access, travel and other unique issues affecting those parties appearing in Wollongong and living south of the Illawarra.

    • Where? Wollongong FCC.
    • When? 3rd November, 2016.
    • Who should attend? Steering Committee representatives.
    • Why? To introduce key post separation providers from the region to Judge Harman and discuss issues of regional importance. To introduce the Southern Pathways phone app- our mobile referral tool which connects to the online referral directories of both South Coast FLPN and Illawarra/ Sthn Highlands FLPN and to clarify the distinctions between programs which are un/available to people living south of Wollongong, in the context of court ordered referrals.

  • Family Law for the Health Sector (major event).

    • Where? Narooma.
    • When? May- June 2017
    • Who should attend? Anyone working with separating families (especially children) in the far south NSW health sector.


  • ‘Family Dispute Resolution through a Trauma informed lens’ (delivered by ISDR)

    • Where? Nowra, Anglicare
    • August 2nd
    • Who should attend? FDRPs, Mediators, Legal Practitioners & Counsellors (Full).
